Title: I Come to Savor From Your Table
Tune: I Come, O Savior, To Thy Table
Copyright 1998, Jim Meyer

I come to savor from your table Whatever suits my taste this week, Like whether you're hooked up to cable And so warm that I could freak Refrain: Lord, may my body in this 'hood Find for my soul the "high"-est good I've shopped around and I am getting Bored with all the old God stuff, The market's right for some new setting Where I can praise God in the buff (?) I'm into yoga, chi and Buddha, Reincarnation floats my boat, Do you serve cheese? I don't like Guda, It's too dry and sticks in my throat What is this with the wine and wafers? Alcohol so pollutes the soul, But everyone must like the flavor, So I'll take some before I go Well, I guess I must give you credit, So firmly you to truth abide, But it's your truth, so I won't let it Keep me from foll'wing spirit guides You've got some aura, let me read it, Just loosen up and let "God" in, I tell the truth, you'd better heed it, Or else my soul you'll never win Though I'm a person of the spirit, I have deep pockets too, you know? So if you want to my dough merit, Show me the place where I can go (Repeat refrain after each stanza) Editor's Alternate Refrain: Lord, may my body coming nigh Find for my soul the the good -est "high"
