- March 26, 1998: "In Casu Confessionis" in our day and times was the topic. A number of congregations in Colorado declared themselves to be "in a state of confession" against a pastor and congregation in their District who openly practice and teach a communion practice different from the stated and declared practice of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. What was the motivation and the basis for such action? What is happening or not happening? These were questions we asked of the Pastor who started this procedure in a telephone patch with him. It was an enlightening topic. Subsequent reports are that the Pastor and congregation have repented and signed an agreement to abide by the Synod's Scriptural position.
- January 28, 1999: Mr. Marvin Orlowski led the group in a review of Dr. Barry's "What About the Differences Between the ELCA and the LCMS." He reviewed much of the history of the mergers and fellowship agreements of the various Lutheran Churches in America, also. There was spirited discussion and questions. Prs. Taylor, Paseur and Loeschman and Mr. Don Kaiser reported on the Ft Wayne Symposia. Brief reviews of the papers, worship and fellowship sparked this portion of the topical section. TCL elected officers for 1999.
Some of the papers presented are in written form and will soon be available for the cost of copying and postage (generally $2.00 -$3.00) through the Chairman or the Secretary.
