Dear James In Christ:

It is very nice of you to speak up and defend a Conservative pastor, pastor Delton Weiser. However, Jack did not bring him name up in the meeting. You brought his name up in the meeting February 12, 1999. The tape will authenticate the fact.

Why didn’t you confront Jack in the meeting in the presence of everyone? Why didn’t you boldly and openly defend and speak up for other Pastors and me, who have been lied to, betrayed, slandered, rejected, and overlooked in the Texas District?

We have to be very careful that we are not be guilty of the same thing for which we accused others. We need to be fair and consistent in our dealing with all Pastors who need our love, defense and support. Jesus reminded us in John 8:7, “He who is without sin cast the first stone.”

If we are honest, we have to admit that there are areas of the Texas District where the Gospel of Christ needs to be reclaimed. There are churches where Law and Gospel are confused and in many instances the Gospel is absent in some of the Publications of the District.

If you read one of the most recent “Minister to Minister” publications, the Texas District President wrote what a Retired Pastor expressed to him about the churches he and his wife attended and the Gospel was absent.

Please accept this response to your letter in a spirit of love from which it was written.

God’s Grace and Blessings to you and to all of us as we with God’s help,

“Keep it straight and as we get the word out.”

In The Joy of Christ!

Elder McCants
