| 10m-
5/5/6/5/5/5 monoband stack
15m- 4/4/4/4/4/4 monoband stack
20m- 4/4/4/4 monoband stack on tower #1, 3 element on 20m tower #2, 3 element on 20m tower #3
40m- 2/2/2 stack on tower #1, 2 element quad on tower #2, 2 element quad on tower #3, 2 element vertical array, single vertical on 20 foot tower
80m: Pair of delta loops, inverted vee, vertical (underconstruction) is another tower that will be high elevated vertical plus a pair of 2 element wire beams)
160m: Vertical, Inverted Vee
RX antennas: 80m 5 beverages W, NW, NE, E, SE. All lengths are roughly 600 feet. 160m 8 beverages SW, W, NW, NE, E, SE plus ability to run pairs NW/NE, NE/SE. All lengths range from 880 to 1160 feet.
Backup antennas: 4-High stack of tribanders plus 40m vertical. These antennas can be tied in to any of the main antenna switching for 10, 15 and 20m.
There are also various other antennas available if needed. Extra antennas available include a 40m vee, 80m vee, verticals for 10, 15, 20 and 40m. There are also 3 beverages pointing NW, NE and SE available to any station that may want to use them.
Not pictured are the towers for the 2 element 40m
quad-types as well as the 5 and 3 element yagis that are used on 6m. |

This is the stack of triband antennas that
are used as a backup in the event something fails with one of the monoband
stacks. Also near this tower is a 40m vertical giving coverage to
10m thru 40m.
40m tower which supports three 2 element 40m yagis. A fourth yagi is planned for the future which will be fixed to the northwest.
Front tower is the 10m tower which is stacked with 5/5/6/5/5/5 yagis. The triband yagis can also be added to the switching system with the main set of 10m yagis.
This is 20m tower #1 which has 4/4/4/4 yagis. Two other 20m yagis are tied in to this switching system. Both 20m tower #2 and #3 support 3 element yagis. There is a 160m vee and a 80m vee hanging from this tower. Left side is another shot of the triband stack. Just right is the 15m tower which has 4/4/4/4/4/4 stacked. This tower also has an 80m delta loop mounted with the apex at roughly 90 feet. This is a picture of a tree! To the far left is the 20m tower and to the right is the 10m tower. Just right of the 20m tower in the background is the 15m tower.
Just another shot of the 20m tower with the 15m tower in the background. Our homestead is also shown here. The radio building is directly behind the house.
Middle-left just above the tree is part of the 10m tower. Over to the right is part of the 40m tower. This was all totally wooded property and many trees were removed to make room for these towers. These are termination and feedpoints to some of the beverages. Although hard to tell from the photo there is a 20 foot wide path extending some 1300 feet through the woods. This was added in the winter of 2008. Another shot of a beverage feedpoint. This is the northeast 160m beverage which runs through a path for almost 1300 feet. All beverages are fed with 1/2" and 3/4" cable tv hardline. |
30 acres were
purchased in October 1996 after doing several on-air tests of this hilltop
location. Having found this to be a very quiet location with
elevations dropping in all directions I figured this was the right place.
Within days after the purchase bulldozer work began as this was 85% wooded property. Brush was cleared to allow the construction of the radio room and future home site as well as space for the first two towers.
The radio room was completed in December 1997 (home was built in 2000) and the first two towers were up by mid-January 1997.
First contest here was the CQWW 160 SSB Contest in February 1998 using an inverted vee hung from one of the towers and 3 temporary beverages.
Over the years more towers and antennas have been added and there are more to come in the future. Station building is really never finished.
The quickest way to get on all bands in the fastest possible way was to stack tribanders on the first tower but within 1 year construction started on the main towers and antennas.
Between 1999 and 2005 towers and stacks were built for 10m-40m with a bit more to come soon. |
