January 2005 - Student work published in Sarika, on-line airline magazine for Siem Reap Airlines and Bangkok Air. "Sweeping the country clean of mines" by Scott Murray ( pages 18-29 )

November 2004 - The Cambodia Land Mine Museum, Prevention and Rehabilitation Center is featured in Focus Magazine, International Programs, Texas A&M University.

May 2004 - Students invited to exhibit the Land Mine Museum, Prevention and Rehabilitation project at MountainFilm Festival in Telluride, Colorado

STUDENT DESIGN PROJECTS WITH AN INTERNATIONAL FOCUS

THE PEDIATRIC HIV/AIDS CLINICS IN PHNON PENH AND SIEM REAP, CAMBODIA
Preliminary designs for two pediatric HIV/AIDS clinics to be built in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, Cambodia were presented to CARE-International and Seedlings of Hope (a relief organization sponsored by Maryknoll). THE CAMBODIA LAND MINE MUSEUM,PREVENTION AND REHABILITAITON CENTER, SIEM REAP, CAMBODIA.
Students at Texas A&M University are providing designs and drawings to the Cambodia Land Mine Museum Relief Fund (CLMMRF) for a center that will aid survivors of land mine accidents. The goal of the CLMMRF is to educate Cambodians and tourists to the dangers of land mines while providing relief to those impacted by land mines. Construction is expected to begin in early 2005.

Spring 2004 – ARCH 327 (Conceptual Structures)

One student involved in the project, Kyle Lobpries, submitted a proposal to travel to Cambodia and was awarded a Department of Architecture fellowship. Kyle spent one month in Siem Reap, volunteering at the museum and traveling throughout Cambodia and Thailand.

Project was awarded the College of Architecture International Activities and Service Award. Funds from the development company enabled two students to travel to Egypt to present their designs.

ADDITIONAL PROJECTS

THE ARCHITECTURAL INCENTIVES THROUGH DESIGN (AID)
The Architectural Incentives through Design (AID) Fund was established by Dr. Julie Rogers and students from the College of Architecture. The fund will support the construction of the Cambodia Land Mine Museum, Prevention and Rehabilitation Center in Siem Reap. To date, over $5,000 has been raised. T-shirt sales (t-shirts designed by ENDS 205 students), an annual Vision 5K Run/Walk, along with private and corporate donations continue to support this effort.

HOPE TO OTHERS (HtoO) CHARITY BOTTLED WATER COMPANY WEB SITE
Hope to Others is a new bottled water company founded by Hollywood director, Tom Shadyac. HtoO is giving 100% of profits from the sale of the bottled water to select charities throughout the world. Designed by Dave Morris (Texas A&M) and Dr. Julie Rogers.

SOMNANG TUK-TUK WEB SITE
Volunteers who are working with the Cambodia Land Mine Museum Relief Fund are providing funds for english and computer classes to Cambodians involved with the land mine museum. Many of the Cambodians who have helped with the museum are self-employed and seek out efforts to better establish their small businesses. This web site advertises one such young man's small transportation business. Designed by Dr. Julie Rogers. Pro-bono work.
