"This project was truly unique in that we had to step away from our thoughts on Western design. The culture of Cambodia is extremely different than it is here in the United States, and this opportunity gave us insight into how other people live. Through our research we discovered what a problem HIV/AIDS is in other countries; seeing pictures of infected children touched our hearts and put a face behind our purpose for this project and its design. It was exciting to create spaces for these children to live, learn, play, and enjoy their lives in."

“It is our hope that the treatment that the children receive at the centers will help them heal physically and mentally, and show them that they can look forward to life beyond the disease.”

“I hope that the design we implemented gives the children a sense of family and removes any feelings of isolation that are typically felt by someone with this disease.”

"This project gave me a chance to design something that would directly
help others. I feel that this is part of my duty as a Christian, so I am really glad I got this opportunity to design something that is not only beneficial to its community but is also more natural and fitting for its environment."

"It was good to know that what we designed could possibly be built to help those less fortunate and sick feel safe and comfortable with their condition."

"It is sad seeing those things the children don't have - things that we take advantage of. It is a priceless feeling to design a facility for these children to promote a better life for them and give them hope for their future."
