Human Resources can be overwhelming when one has neither the time nor the resources to hire a specialist. Compliance with laws and regulations, while maintaining a company culture, is especially challenging for small businesses.

The objective of this site is to provide small business owners and staff with the necessary knowledge and tools to develop and maintain a successful and cost effective Human Resource function.

Compensation and Benefits
Refers to the monetary and nonmonetary means actually paid to the employee. Benefits might include health/retirement plans.

Hiring and Staffing
Involves knowing job needs, advertising, and interviewing qualified applicants. We address job descriptions, how to advertise, and discuss interviewing techniques.

Policies and Procedures
Entails a guideline for employees that defines acceptable behavior within the work environment while ensuring equal and fair treatment. We review handbook content and how it relates to the law.

Recordkeeping
Refers to the legal requirements and the timeframes of employee data.
