The Golden Thorn is a 13-acre farm (this is Texas, it must be a ranch) owned by Lynn Lamoreux and located near Lake Bryan. The Golden Thorn specializes in Oldenburg and Hanoverian dressage horses. The farm/ranch also boasts one of the few flocks of Shetland sheep in Texas. These sheep produce the softest kind of wool that is perfect for hand spinners. In addition to the horses and sheep, The Golden Thorn has Cashmere goats with spectacular fine fiber, and a collection of other animals. Two lady turkeys, 1 lady goose, 1 lady chicken, 1 gentleman duck, a pig, a Shetland pony teaser stallion, a Great Pyrenese guardian dog and an imperial lady cat. Our horses are not afraid of goats, pigs, or poultry, and they are handled daily with appropriate discipline.
