JONES - PICKETT - COYLE I am searching for info on the above family lines. My great grandfather (JONES, George Wesley - b. abt 1882 in AR) came to TX and married PICKETT, Etta Prena (b. abt 1-18-1888 in Saltillo, TX of Hopkins Co. / d. 2-6-1953 in TX). They had 2 children together. JONES, Edgar (b. 12-24-1903 in Bexar Co., TX / d. 12-8-1987 in Pocahontas, AR) JONES, Annie May (b. 4-3-1907 in TX / d. 6-22-1919 in TX) GW took Edgar and returned to AR before 1909; leaving Annie with her mother (Etta). Annie died in a lightening storm while working in the fields. Etta Prena Pickett was the daughter of Jim PICKETT and Sarah HATCHEL. PICKETT, Jim (b. abt 1860 in TN / d. in TX) HATCHEL, Sarah (b. abt 1862 in TN / d. in TX) Daughter of H.G. and Nancy Hatchel. Jim and Sarah were married about 1887 and had children besides Etta: PICKETT, Bessie (b. abt 1889) PICKETT, Henry (b. abt 1890) PICKETT, Emma Etta remarried after GW returned to AR to COYLE, Benjamin Franklin. Looking for the death date of Sarah Florida GENTRY. Benjamin E. GENTRY and Sarah Florida REED were married in Tyler County' Texas and moved to Brazos County after the Civil War. I believe that Sarah died around 1903 and I believe she is buried in the Wellborn Cemetary next to Benjamin E. GENTRY. There is a unmarked plot next to Benjamin's grave, I believe this is Sarah. In "Austin Colony Pioneers," Worth Ray reports on Thomas W. BLAKEY born in Buckingham Co., Virginia and married to Mary Jane COVINGTON in Hopkinsville, Kentucky on 12 January 1830. They were in Independence, Washington Co., Texas in 1837. They are known to have had 4 children: Ceceline, born in December, 1830, Francis J. born in 1834, and Sophia and Joshia, twins born in 1837. I am interested in Francis J. BLAKEY. Is she the Fanny J. or Francis married to James W. PARKER in the 1860 Brazos Co. and 1870 Robertson Co Census? Brother Joshia (Josiah?) BLAKEY moved to Ennis, Ellis Co.

BUCHANAN I am looking for information about Wilson Grandbury BUCHANAN and Jane Beatty Fleming BUCHANAN. They came to Brazos County c.1860 with 10 or more children. They are buried in Steep Hollow Cemetery, along with many of their offspring. Would like to know if Wilson's parents, Samuel BUCHANAN and Nancy Herrington BUCHANAN are also buried there? Three children were born to this marriage: James Maxwell REED, Sarah Ann Laura REED, and Shadrach Lafayette REED. Shadrach was the only one to live to produce children. He settled in Brazos County after marrying Narcissus THOMPSON in 1847. Children were: Sara Jane THOMAS, Susan Laura CHRISTIAN, Samuel Heath REED, Benjamin Lucien REED, G. James L. REED, Thompson Flournoy REEd, Clara Ann REED, Paley Andrew REED, Ada Almedia BASS, and David Theophaley REED. Is anyone researching this family? In the early 1860's Alfred KELLY lived in Brazos County around Bryan. It is told that he got into a duel with another man and killed him. Alfred was suppose to have left Brazos County and never to be heard of again. But his wife had at least two more children after his "disappearance". Does any one know where he went to after this duel or where he is buried?

His parents were Robert Hemphill MILLICAN and Nancy MCNEIL. I have been told that Dr. MILLICAN was very prominent in Millican, Texas and that the city of Millican was named in his honor. I believer that his Father is a first cousin of my husband's ancestor. I would like to connect them if I can. The Elliott McNeil MILLICAN family connects on my husband's Mother's side and I hope on his Father's side also if I can prove that Robert is a cousin to my husband's gggggGrandfather Andrew MILLICAN.

Searching for information on George Washington SINGLETON who received a land grant in Brazos County in 1832. He was married to Elizabeth HARBOUR and had two children, Marietta and John. After he apparently died shortly after 1832. His widow then married Willougby BOATRIGHT and they lived in Washington County.
